Children’s Defense Fund-Minnesota launched its 2010 KIDS COUNT Data Book entitled “Every Kid Counts: A Closer look at Children of Color and American Indian Children” on September 9, 2010. The book compiles child well-being data across different topics with each indicator looking specifically at race and ethnicity to provide an overall picture of child well-being in Minnesota.

CDF-MN will be co-hosting events around the state until November.  At each event county-by-county information will be available.

CDF-MN will also honor its Stars of the StateStars of the State are organizations CDF–MN highlighted in the Data Book that work with families and children in creative ways to address the inequalities that exist in our community.

As the 2010 elections are fast approaching, it is up to all Minnesotans to ensure that children are not left out of the discussion and that policymakers understand what investments children need to be successful. Because children cannot vote they depend on us to be their voice.

Please join us to find out more about how children are faring in your county and around the state.
